Phuong Nguyen (she/her)
MSW, LMSW
Phuong (pronounced “Fong”) is a trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent-affirming therapist serving clients in Tucson and online across Arizona. She creates a safe, empowering, and affirming space for individuals ages 10 and older—including children, teens, and adults—to explore challenges such as anxiety, depression, complex trauma, PTSD, ADHD, identity exploration, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, perfectionism, grief and loss, substance use, and life transitions. Phuong’s approach is collaborative, client-centered, strengths-based, and relational, integrating evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative and Psychodynamic Therapy, mindfulness, somatic practices, and play- and art-based interventions to support holistic healing and personal growth. Her journey in mental health began in the United States Air Force as a Mental Health Technician and Alcohol & Drug Counselor, and she holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Arizona and a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. As a queer woman of color, Phuong is committed to cultural humility and anti-oppressive practice, providing affirming care for clients from marginalized communities. She values authenticity, curiosity, humor, and connection in therapy and everyday life, and enjoys spending time with her dogs, exploring video games, books, art, music, cooking, and fitness.
Phuong accepts Aetna, Banner Aetna, TriWest, and BCBS of Arizona, offering both in-person therapy in Tucson and secure telehealth across Arizona.
