Kris Godfryt (she/her)

MS, LAC

Kris brings over 20 years of experience supporting children, teens, young adults, and families through life’s many seasons. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master’s in School Counseling from National-Louis University in Illinois. Her background as a teacher and school counselor nurtured her passion for creating safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces where people feel truly seen and supported.

Kris has extensive experience walking alongside clients through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, panic, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, school and college-related stress, ADHD, parenting and caregiving, chronic illness, and identity development. She is especially attuned to the emotional needs of young adults navigating early adulthood—such as shifting roles, big decisions, new independence, and the uncertainty that often comes with finding one’s direction.

Kris is trauma-informed and uses a person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused approach, often weaving in psychoeducation to support greater self-understanding and resilience-building. She believes healing happens in relationship—when people feel safe, accepted, and heard.

Kris brings warmth, empathy, and curiosity into her work and sees each client as the expert of their own experience. She is committed to cultural humility and providing affirming care for clients of all identities and backgrounds, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community. She is passionate about helping individuals and families reconnect with their inner strength, explore what matters most, and move forward with greater clarity and purpose. Her approach is always tailored to the unique needs and identities of each person she serves, and she is honored to walk alongside them as they navigate their path toward healing and wholeness.
